Obama examines US intelligence following bomb plot
President Obama is ordering a review of US intelligence and boosting airline security following an attempted bombing of a US jetliner. This comes as White House officials released a report today detailing how authorities failed to detect the suspect. The president also thanked Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd for his service this week. Obama's written statement was prompted by Dodd's decision to retire from the Senate at the end of his term. The president honored more than 80 of America's top math and science teachers Wednesday at the White House. The educators all received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
