🎥 What is Post-Void Dribbling (PVD)?

Ever leaked a little urine after using the toilet, especially as you walk away? 😳 It can be annoying and embarrassing, but you’re not alone. Let’s break down why it happens!

🧠 Why Does It Happen?

Men have a longer tube (or hose) where urine can get “stuck,” and when you move around, structures relax or move, allowing “stuck” urine to leak out. This can occur in women too!

🚽 What can exacerbate or potentially cause this issue?

🍑 BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) or enlarged prostate tissue (that is problematic and symptomatic) can compress around the prostatic urethra, narrowing or compressing the urine tube. This can lead to:
• Not being able to fully empty your bladder and urinary retention.
• Not all BPH is problematic.

💧Externally applied pressure or restriction from legs being close together either in sitting or standing.

💪🏼 Difficulty relaxing pelvic floor muscles during urination.

💊 Medications and recreational drugs that can potentially influence nerve and muscle communication of the pelvic floor and bladder, like:
• Sedatives
• Anxiety meds
• Enlarged prostate medications
• Cannabis

🐎 Rushing to urinate.
