7.1.4 Atmos Mix Rig for $2500
This is the build and setup video for my Immersive Audio Instructable. I fell in love with immersive audio and knew I needed a playback system to let me further my microphone designs. This is the result of my adventure. You can build a studio quality 7.1.4 mixing rig for under $2500 if you are willing to do some DIY. The instructable is pretty detailed on everything but I spent more time on the amplifier than anything else as that is most people's achilles heel. It is a 12 channel LM3886 gainclone. The main speakers are Dayton Audio C Notes. The subwoofer is an isobaric dual 10" woofer of my design. Paired with a 300W plate amplifier. Then I go into how to set it up in Reaper with a few mixing scenarios. Welcome to the world of immersive!
