Operation thwarts illegal gold export in five regions | Edición Mediodía | News Peru
A joint operation by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the National Police, and SUNAT led to the seizure of approximately 20 kilos of gold valued at 2 million dollars, originating from unauthorized activities. The operation was carried out in various regions of the country, including Lima, Callao, Arequipa, Nasca, and Puno. Premises linked to the export and processing of the mineral were raided, and several suspects were arrested. Authorities are investigating the case’s international connections.
