MASKI SHOW — a cult series created by Georgy Deliev, comic troupe ‘Maski’ and producer Alexei Mitrofanov, first aired in December 1991, at the beginning of the “era of freedom”, and soon became a household name. Over the course of production, more than 100 episodes were released with the concept of “Maski in...”. The project won the love of viewers with its revolutionary philosophy: absurdist humor, rebellious aesthetics and the complete absence of taboos inherent in Soviet society.
But most importantly, the “Maski Show” proved that laughter is kindness, a cure for all diseases and even prolongation of life. Their unique style - pantomime, hypertrophied plasticity, a powerful soundtrack (the hit “Tun-deri-tum-ba”), computer graphics along with special effects and exclusive stunts - created a phenomenon that remains relevant for decades. International awards have only confirmed: this laughter was not just entertainment, but a real therapy for a generation of an entire country.
