In this video, I walk you through creating your own customized TrueNAS dashboard using influxDb time series database and Grafana. Before doing any query to time series data from influxDb database, we first need to install Grafana and its plugins. Once the Grafana installation is finished, we can go ahead to install influxDB time series database itself to accept outputs from TrueNAS remote graphite server in the reporting settings.
I have setup a headless Ubuntu server OS as a logging server in VMware hypervisor ESXi virtual machine to accept graphite endpoint output from TrueNAS. Even TrueNAS CORE 12 is virtualized within ESXi as well. They perform exceptionally well without hiccup.
