Lake Naivasha seems to be reclaiming its original height of 1892m above sea level from its previous 1884m. This has led to displacement of over 15,000 households within the areas of Kihoto, Mayela, Njabini and Kijabi. The siltation inflow from River Gilgil, River Malewa and River Karati has seen the rise in the bed floor of the Lake. This has also been compounded by the deforestation activities happening within the Eburu forest and Aberdare forest that serve as the water towers for Lake Naivasha.
