When should you trim hedges and bushes?
According to Section 39 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act, trimming hedges and shrubs is prohibited between March 1 and September 30. This ban is intended to protect animal breeding grounds. Trimming is permitted, but care must be taken to ensure that no nests are destroyed or the animals are disturbed. Trimming is permitted again starting October 1. I'm taking advantage of the beautiful sunny day to trim my hedges.
