Pee Wee Gaskins is a band from Jakarta officially formed on April 11, 2007. The current lineup, which has remained unchanged for the most part, consists of Dochi Sadega (Bass/Guitar/Vocals), Sansan (Guitar/Vocals), Omo (Synth/Keys/Samples/Guitar/Vocals), Aldy Kumis (Drums), and Ayi (Guitar/Bass/Backing Vocals). The band’s former member, Tlor (Bass), left the group a week after they released their first album, and his position was later filled by Ayi.
Fans of the band are known as Dorks, Dorkzilla, or Tatiana. However, they also have a group of detractors known as Anti Pee Wee Gaskins (APWG), who dislike the band for reasons that are unclear.
The name "Pee Wee Gaskins" itself comes from the nickname of a notorious American serial killer, Donald Henry Gaskins. Initially, Dochi and Sansan were looking for a name that sounded menacing and decided to search for the name of a serial killer. They came across "Pee Wee Gaskins" and found it amusing on the surface, while still holding a dark, sinister undertone.
