This is a very a special setting because there is a small motor inside your camera lens adjusting the focus in real time based on whatever is in the center point of the field of view. If you need to conserve power, this is probably not the best setting for you because your camera is working very hard to constantly readjust its focal distance.
You also need to be careful in this setting that if you are moving too much and changing the focal distance constantly, you may not be giving your camera enough time to catch up and focus properly. So, play around a little bit with this setting so you know in what situations it makes sense to use, and what situations one of the other 3 focus settings may serve you better.
