In Russia, children were left without parents after being poisoned by chacha while vacationing in Sochi. Daria and Maxim came from the Far East to vacation on the Black Sea and bought homemade chacha at a Sochi market. On the train ride back home, they decided to try the chacha. After a couple of drinks, the woman became ill. In the Voronezh region, she was removed from the train and hospitalized, but they couldn't save her. The man initially showed no symptoms, but fell into a coma at the hotel. His kidneys failed. He died nine days after his wife's death. The couple's children will be picked up by their grandmother in Moscow. They are currently in shock. Three more people, also vacationers, died from the same chacha from the Sochi market. All were poisoned by methanol. The saleswoman, 60-year-old Eteri, is well-known locally. She had been selling homemade wine and chacha for 30 years. Chacha made with mulberry and melon was particularly popular. People would buy it and then begin to lose consciousness within a couple of hours. The woman is being questioned, but after law enforcement visited the market, most of the suspicious products disappeared from the warehouses.
