On a Gazelle NEXT with a CUMMINS ISF 2.8 Euro 5 engine, the activation of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration is a very interesting aspect of vehicle operation. To comply with environmental standards and regulations, the 2020 Gazelle NEXT is equipped with a DPF, which is a very expensive part. After searching online, I found that a DPF costs around 43,000 rubles. Personally, after Euro 3, the Euro 5 standard has become a negative factor for diesel-powered Gazelle models, increasing their cost and reducing engine life. Monitoring the regeneration activations, I found that 10 of them occurred over a mileage of 4,510 km. This suggests that in urban driving conditions, the regeneration activation occurred after an average mileage of 451 km. This is a rather inconvenient feature for a modern vehicle.
