This is about 25% of the total market of pan masala (about Rs 45,000 crore)! Now you must have understood why the government is unsuccessful in this! The government is getting money, actors are doing ads and common people are spitting on the road after eating it! The interesting thing is that neither most of the government representatives nor any actor eats it! But the fact that common people are taking the risk of cancer by eating it is a different matter! But is it possible to stop this? It depends on the strong will of the government! Learn from Dubai! Consumption of gutkha and tobacco is prohibited in Dubai. If someone is caught eating gutkha, he may have to pay a fine of 150 to 500 dirhams i.e. 3000 to 10000 rupees or he may even be arrested! Just recently 150 such people were jailed in Dubai! And there, if you open the window and spit in public, you will be expelled from the country!
