What was the Siege of Leningrad from the German perspective? In this video I will talk about how the Germans viewed the Siege of Leningrad. Why didn't the German capture Leningrad? As Army Group North wasn't able to capture Leningrad by storming it, the Germans besieged the city with devastating results for the local population who suffered under German air raids, shelling and most dire: shortages of food. Later the German focus was laid on Moscow and later Stalingrad. Yet, the Siege of Leningrad continued and was only lifted about 900 days after it began.
