Abu Helal canyon (cavern dive) in Dahab, Egypt
Abu Helal has multiple sections of canyons and caverns. We decided to explore one of them, the so called “ T” section. It is one of my favorite sites in Dahab and it is very underrated. This dive requires high tide and low wind and is accessible from shore only. The canyon is not entirely dark but still requires proper dive lights. Entrance is about 30 meters deep and goes down to 40 meters close to the bottom. It is a tech dive that requires decompression and good skills due to the very silty nature inside.
