Presenting an exciting FPGA-based Real-Time 4-Way Traffic Light Controller — designed and implemented by Vanshika Sharma, a trainee from the FPGA Design Batch at PinE Training Academy.

🚦 Project Overview

This project models a real-world traffic control system using Finite State Machine (FSM) logic implemented in Verilog and deployed on the Nexys A7 FPGA board.

It controls signals for four directions — North, South, East, and West — with realistic timing for Red, Yellow, and Green lights, synchronized using a divided clock for precise 1-second intervals.

⚙️ Project Highlights

🔹 FSM Design — Handles state transitions between all traffic directions
🔹 Clock Division — Converts 100 MHz FPGA clock to 1 Hz
🔹 Timing Control — Green: 7s | Yellow: 3s | Red: automatic sequencing
🔹 LED Representation — 12 LEDs emulate real traffic lights
🔹 7-Segment Display — Shows countdown timer for active direction
🔹 Real-Time Operation — Fully functional simulation on FPGA hardware
