In this new episode, we are in conversation with Gnanasekar Thiagarajan. We will learn how tracking commodity markets can help you become a better equity trader.

Several traders believe that if you are an equity trader you need not track commodities. Reality is far different from this. If you are an automobile manufacturer than you cannot ignore steel prices. If you are a garment manufacturer than you cannot ignore cotton prices. If manufacturers don’t ignore these prices than how can an investor ignore it?

The price movement of commodities have a big effect on the profits of most of these companies. So you must focus on it too.

Contrary to popular opinion…tracking commodities is actually easier than equities. Cyclicality in commodities is much more predictable than equities.

Gnanasekar shares various examples of commodities that move in a cyclical fashion regularly. Example crude oil, natural gas etc.

He also gives us a brief overview of the global and local commodity markets. We discuss several factors that affects the movement of these commodities.

Movements in US Dollar affects commodity markets worldwide. As a beginner, you must track it to get a better grip on commodities.

Along with this, we also discuss the factors, which affect the movements in base and precious metals.

We are certain that you will get a unique perspective on commodity markets after watching this episode.

Enjoy..!
