Computer turns off then on
I am at a wits end with this and suspecting the CPU might be bad but not sure. All the CPU pins are straight and aligned. Any ideas? Please don't mention putting on the CPU cooler as it should still work and the CPU should get warm/hot quickly but it stays cool for the few seconds that the power is on.
I was getting this exact same problem on a previous motherboard (same model) so I replaced the motherboard and power supply and still get this problem.
The CPU_Light on the motherboard turns red as you can see and the little amber light (HD Led) turns on for a second, making a slight static noise.
The minumum installed is:
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz
ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z LGA 1155 Intel Z68 Motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
