This is lecture #2 for the History of Fashion & Costume Design class. Briefly scraping the surface on Egyptian hairstyling and wigs! This video lecture is an evaluation and overview of Gay Robins' 1999 essay, titled, "Hair and the Construction of Identity in Ancient Egypt c. 1480-1350 B.C.E". In this video, I examined how the way hair was worn encodes information about gender, age, and social status. I want to acknowledge I do NOT have authority over ancient Egypt and Egyptian art. I find this topic incredibly fascinating and would love to continue learning more. As there is so much more I can learn about history! I take this class with a lot of grace and appreciate your time watching my video! If I mispronounced something or got something wrong, please let me know so I can fix it in the future! I would love to correct myself and get proper feedback! :-)
ALSO! When I am recording, the video of myself covers the screen I am presenting, so that is why I kept saying "Let me move my guy/myself", and/or "Below me is___". I can see that looks weird as the video shows my video of myself on the right side, not over the screen! So sorry!!!
Please reach out with any questions, concerns, or comments you may have. Thank you kindly!!!
See you next week!
