Kiara Palma with iDance Vancouver
Born and raised in Vancouver, Kiara is a very artistic person, exploring all forms of the arts. As well as dancing, Kiara also paints, sketches, and draws, always working to improve her skills. From a young age, along with her dance classes, she also took singing lessons and moved on to doing several singing competitions and performances as well. She sings covers of songs and posts them on her YouTube channel. As a student at BCIT, she received the Radio Arts and Entertainment diploma in 2020 and she uses her video and audio editing skills with her friends on several YouTube channels.
Kiara is very family-oriented. She has 3 brothers, and several nieces and nephews, and a Pomeranian named Bella. Her parents are her biggest supporters, they play a huge part in her life, supporting her through everything she does. Everything that Kiara does that she loves, she does not only do it for herself but for her parents as well. With dance, they are the reason she found it, loves it, and was able to spend so much of her time dedicated herself to dancing. This is why she wants to honor that and continue to do what she loves.
Growing up dancing in Vancouver, Kiara danced at multiple studios. Starting out as a recreational activity, then moving to competitive hip hop, she eventually branched out to many studios to gain experience from a variety of sources. Kiara is motivated by personal growth, so she continues to train with many different instructors to continue to improve her craft.
As for teaching, Kiara loves that she gets to do what she loves, plus see others doing what they love when she comes into work. Seeing the dancers walk into her class reminds her of when she first started dancing and that is wonderful to see. She loves to see the dancer’s determination and love of movement and passing on her knowledge to help others and make them happy fills Kiara with joy.
Kiara’s classes are a fun, welcoming, and comfortable space for people to explore her style of hip hop, which is a style that many have not tried before. Kiara is incredibly encouraging, she keeps things light and fun, and her instruction is very clear while continually inviting dancers to add their own style and flair to the movement. Kiara loves to build connections and a community at iDance with all the dancers and can’t wait to see you soon!
