I've always come across the demijohn demo to demonstrate air pressure. You pour a small amount of cologne into the demijohn, light a napkin, let it sit inside, vacuum out the air, and when you close the lid with your hand, the low internal pressure causes the demijohn to buckle. So, we decided to use a barrel instead of a demijohn. We bought an old, empty barrel from a scrap dealer and followed the same process, but...
Of course, we couldn't easily vacuum out the air inside the huge barrel using just a small amount of gasoline. I was afraid I'd get away with it.
Note: Don't try this at home; don't play with gasoline.
