Most of the time PiP works flawless for youtube videos. Other times, you'll see a message saying"full screen video is not available". To bypass this, use this free app called PiPifier. You can download from the app store.
PiP doesn't work straight from the Youtube app. That feature is now only available for Youtube Premium users (you need to pay for this). This method will bypass that.
