Box Knight might be one of the most charming indie roguelikes I've played.
The first thing that pulled me in was the art style. It's colorful, full of personality, and perfectly matches the game's humorous take on office life. Instead of fighting generic monsters, you're battling twisted versions of coworkers and office personalities as you climb floor after floor.
The combat feels smooth and satisfying, with a nice variety of weapons, upgrades, and abilities to experiment with throughout each run. I also liked the rock-paper-scissors style enemy mechanics, where different enemies encourage you to change how you approach each fight instead of simply mashing attacks.
The boss fights were fun, the monster designs were creative, and the office setting never stopped being entertaining. Between the music, visuals, humor, and progression systems, I found myself enjoying pretty much every part of the experience.
Overall, Box Knight is a fun, stylish action roguelike with a unique workplace theme that helps it stand out in a crowded genre. If you're looking for something with satisfying combat, plenty of charm, and a lot of personality, this is definitely one worth checking out.
