Ask Meguiar's: What is the Difference Between Car Polish, Wax & Sealant?
To many people, these words might mean the same thing but there are differences in these products, and some of them may even to two in one. In general, polishes add depth of color and are gloss enhancers to your paint, some may even have an abrasive to help remove minor defects. Wax, whether natural or synthetic, protects the paint from the weather and the environment. This is similar to sun screen for your skin, plus they add some additional gloss and shine to your paint. On the other hand, a sealant which is a synthetic polymer, may not give you that extra gloss but it offers superior protection.
