YouthBuild Philadelphia - Saint-Gobain Corporation Foundation video
In December 2010, Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed launched a three-year, $550,000 partnership with YouthBuild USA. YouthBuild is a green education and job-training program that helps disadvantaged youth transform their lives. These young adults earn their high school diplomas or GEDs while learning green construction skills by rehabbing or building a sustainable home in their community.
The partnership includes funding from the Saint-Gobain Corporation Foundation, companywide employee volunteer support, as well as strong collaboration with CertainTeed, to provide energy-efficient products, building science, technical expertise and more.
As you'll see in the video update, after many months of demolition on the interior of the home, the YouthBuild team completed the installation of donated CertainTeed Cool Star roofing material that will increase the energy efficiency of the home.
