Sharing My Big Vision, My Grand Vision, My Big Dream in 2021! It Is Scary Sharing Your Dreams!!
Today I am sharing my big vision, my grand visions, and my big dream in 2021. For me, it is scary sharing your dreams, especially your big dreams because I face rejection. But today I am facing my fear and doing it anyways! Ever since the initial concept of the Gentle Earth Community Farm, the idea of a self sustainable community with a primary focus on personal growth has been my dream. Ultimately, I believe it is my mission to grow and aid in the growth of all life. I honestly believe a lot of people can resonate with that. It is extremely broad, and I actually remember when I came to this realization and asked myself how I felt I was going to go about doing that. At the time, and this was close to five years ago (give or take a year or two), I decided that I was going to help people pursue their passions. That has stuck with me all this time through the many changes of my life, but it doesn’t resonate like it once did. Right now, I have this deep desire to be deeply connected with nature, and by doing so, being an example for others. Don’t get me wrong, I love technology, but only when it is in harmony with nature. It doesn’t make much sense to me when we use technology to the detriment of our natural environment, which we totally depend on for survival. What’s really resonating with me right now is the phrase, our inner world creates our outer world and we need to fix the roots to fix the fruits. If the tree is sick and doesn’t have healthy fruit, we need to address the health of the roots first and foremost. Is there proper aeration and oxygen, is there diverse soil biology present, are there any competitors, pests, or diseases that are harming the tree? I’m sure you can tell that I love the plant analogies.
What it comes down to is that I want the 1,000 acres to be a sanctuary, an oasis, a sacred place and I want the activities and decisions for the property to be done with intention and purpose. I love permaculture. I love the concepts and the results it provides. A system focused on generational wealth instead of taking and taking without thought of how it affects others. I see permaculture playing a HUGE role on the 1,000 acre property. I foresee a tight knit community where everyone works together for the betterment of everyone. If someone needs a house built, everyone comes together to utilize their strengths and skills to get the job done. I firmly believe that we are stronger together in every sense. Not only do relationships offer incredible opportunities to get out of our comfort zones, but we can leverage other people’s knowledge and skills to get work done more efficiently.
I see the community being united by values and purpose, some set of standards to filter our decisions so we can always go back to these guiding principles if we are ever in disagreement. I foresee a plethora of different businesses being established on the property. There will definitely be food based businesses, a farmer’s market of sorts, and also prepared meals maybe in the form of a restaurant. There could be multiple rental cabins or houses for people to come stay in to experience the beauty, harmony and tranquility of the oasis. Maybe even a bed and breakfast with guided tours of the forest, maybe even including fishing lessons, and mushroom foraging lessons. I definitely see a mushroom growing business on the property. Not only will we have access to the wild mycorrhizal and saprophytic mushrooms growing in the forest, but we will also be able to cultivate gourmet and medicinal mushrooms indoors, year round. There will be an abundance of wildlife for hunting and trapping. We can even raise animals for meat, milk, and other practical goods such as leather and wool. We can grow bamboo and hemp as textiles and have a thriving food forest that provides more than enough food for all of the inhabitants and enough to sell and supply the restaurant. I foresee the property hosting festivals full of love, light, growth, transformation, and expansion. We will have access to an abundance of clean and renewable energy that will power any and all of the technology we desire. We can host teaching workshops on everything from gardening, to permaculture, growing mushrooms, music, and renewable energy. I see SO much potential when the right individuals come together with a vision based on love and growth.
