In today’s video, come celebrate "Thai New Year"with me and experience Songkran the way we do here. It’s one of the biggest and most fun times of the year, and I wanted to show you what it really feels like on the ground.
Quick background if you don't know Songkran — it's Thailand's New Year, celebrated every year from April 13th to 15th. The word actually comes from Sanskrit, meaning the passing of the sun into a new zodiac sign.
Traditionally, people pour water gently over elders' hands as a symbol of washing away bad luck and showing respect.
But somewhere along the way and honestly, good for them it turned into THIS!
From the meaningful traditions to the full-on water fights, this is Songkran as we experience it.
