How To Add Keyframes At Current Time in Adobe After Effects CC 2018 - to add keyframes you don't necessarily have to tweak the parameter. You could just click on the little icon on the left side or use the short cvut Alt/Opt + Shift.
For instance, when you want to add a keyframe at the current playhead position for the position value just hit alt/opt + shift + p (the keyboard shortcut for position).
That way you will be able to add keyframes without tweaking the value, which sometimes is necessary to get the desired animation or set keyframes at a certain time for later.
