In his talk, Antonio Deruda takes us on a journey through the vast global infrastructure of the Internet. He explores who controls the Internet, the major economic and geopolitical interests that shape it, and the role we can—and must—play in building the Internet of the future. Born in Rome, originally from Sardinia, and now living in Vicenza, Antonio Deruda has been working in international communications for twenty years. He teaches corporate communication at universities and teaches master's programs at numerous Italian and international training centers. He works as an advisor with organizations and companies to help them develop effective digital strategies.
In 2021, he coordinated digital communications for the Italian Presidency of the G20 and in 2017 for the G7.
Always fascinated by the intersection of digital and international relations, in 2012 he wrote the first book on digital diplomacy, in 2014 a communication manual in English for international officials, and is currently writing an essay on digital geopolitics. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
