Indian Economic Updates : Apple Reports Record-Breaking Revenue in India
Apple set another revenue record in India in the September quarter, driven by strong iPhone and iPad sales, amid growing demand for premium smartphones. CEO Tim Cook highlighted India’s role in Apple’s record global earnings of $95 billion, marking a 6% year-on-year rise. Sales of older models like the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, alongside competitive local pricing and streamlined production in India, contributed significantly. With iPhone shipments in India up 55% on-year, Apple holds a 22% market share in value, second only to Samsung. To capitalize on demand, Apple plans to open four additional flagship stores across India, building on the success of its existing stores in Mumbai and Delhi.
