I arrive in Kabul, Afghanistan. The airport is controlled, security is tight, and movement is limited.
This city has a history of bombings and attacks, and even now that risk hasn’t fully disappeared. You notice it in checkpoints, armed patrols, and how people behave in public.
Soon after entering the city, I have my first contact with the Taliban. I’m stopped, asked questions, and closely observed. The situation is tense.
