Dumb Stuff I've Done
Life is full of dumb stuff. We do dumb things as we're growing up. We act dumb when we're falling in love. We're willing to be caught being silly and dumb with our kids.
God is crazy about us. God moved heaven and earth to create us. He died to take away our sins and adopt us as his children.
What kind of dumb stuff do you get caught doing for God?
I'll be honest, I struggle sometimes to feel like I'm on a grand adventure with God. Sometimes it feels like a marathon.
So I challenge you. Treat God like he's crazy about you and your crazy about him. If it's a struggle--tell him. Ask him to fill you with love for him. The more you ask the more he'll fill.
Then take 1 night and spend the evening with God. Seriously. Have a blast with your creator. Here's a list of ideas you could do.
Read (Bible--book of Philippians or book about God like Crazy Love) for 10 minutes
Pray for 5 minutes
Take a walk somewhere pretty (the lake, the hills, even the bike path) and talk to God (silently or out loud) as you walk. Admire the things he's created. Tell him your problems.
Watch something. Maybe youtube Jefferson Benthke spoken word. Or watch some Lecrae music videos. Or youtube Louie Giglio clips about how "indescribable" and "how great our God" is.
Read for another 10 minutes.
Pray for another 5.
