In this video, I show a complete workflow for generating BIM Data Exchanges from an IFC model and transforming them into an fully interactive Power BI dashboard focused on spatial data.

The process starts by creating an Autodesk Data Exchange that includes only the ifcSpaces (rooms), excluding constructible objects to focus purely on spatial information and analytics.

Then, step by step, I demonstrate how to combine that Autodesk Forma Data Exchange (Autodesk Construction Cloud) with a room data table exported from Autodesk Revit to build a comprehensive Power BI dashboard.

In this video you will see:

How to generate a Data Exchange from an IFC model showing only BIM spaces
How to use Autodesk Data Exchange from Autodesk Forma (ACC)
How to integrate Revit room data into an analytical workflow
How to build a Power BI dashboard combining BIM and tabular data
A 3D viewer displaying IFC spaces directly inside Power BI
A room data table synchronized with the BIM model
A booking matrix showing room usage by dates and schedules

This workflow demonstrates how BIM spatial data can be transformed into actionable analytics, enabling smarter space management, planning, and operational insights through interactive dashboards.

If you’re interested in BIM data interoperability, digital twins, or advanced analytics workflows, this example shows how to connect design data with business intelligence tools in a practical way.
