Smart BLDC Commutator
Just got this control board working, still some minor bugs to work out with motor starting.
The control board takes input from hall effect sensors on the motor and takes care of the commutation of the motor. An external microcontroller can feed in direction and PWM for black box type control of the motor.
What makes it smart is that while the control board is reading the hall sensors for commutating, it is simultaneously using that information to keep track of the motor position, both forward and reverse. Position is then relayed back to an external microcontroller via the SPI protocol.
