I stayed in a hotel run entirely by robots in Tokyo, Japan… and it didn’t feel the way I expected.
From a fully automated check-in at the famous Henn na Hotel, to a strange and almost unsettling atmosphere, this robotic hotel experience raises a bigger question:
are robot hotels the future of travel, or just a gimmick designed for entertainment?
In this video, I test what it’s actually like to stay in one of Tokyo’s most unique and weird hotels — where robots replace human staff — and whether any of this technology is truly useful.
I also visit a robot restaurant where an entire “army” of robots serves customers, to see if robots in Japan are really becoming part of everyday life… or if it’s still just a show.
And just a short walk from the hotel, I explore one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks — Sensō-ji, the oldest temple in the city — showing a completely different side of Tokyo at night.
So… are robots really replacing people in hotels, or does something still feel off?
