[SOLVED] What is Wrong With My 65" Panasonic Plasma TC-65PST34 ? TEXT BLOOMING
Bought this at COSTCO in August 2011 so I'm still covered by the 90 day return policy. But I've never had a problem like this with any other Panny plasma before. Watch the clock. When it reaches 2:23:39 the text suddenly blooms (expands) and appears BOLD for a second, then returns to normal. This pulsing occurs at regular intervals whenever dark text is over a light background. I never notice it during a movie whether from Blu Ray or broadcast cable. Is this a defective TV? I've turned C.A.T.S. on and off, changed many other settings, but it makes no difference. Also, the latest firmware has been installed, no change. Set was mfg in April 2011. Makes no difference if set is in torch mode, or cinema with brightness and contrast lowered well below normal. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Comments?
Bingo! : SETUP| Anti image retention | OFF.
If anyone else encounters this in the future, turning off the Anti image retention should solve the problem.
I'll leave it on when watching movies, and just turn it off when web browsing or other PC use where it would be annoyting to have it on.
