Bayonet knife AKM, AK-74 6X4
This is an improved version of the 6x3 bayonet, the main difference being the shape of the handle with a metal pommel. In English-language literature, bayonets of this type are known as "AKM Bayonet Model 2." The 6x4 bayonet was supplied to various countries alongside AKM assault rifles.
The bayonet blade is single-edged. The butt end is double-edged, with a concave blade on the butt end. The butt end has serrations, allowing the bayonet to be used as a saw. A rectangular hole in the fore-end of the blade allows the bayonet to be attached to the scabbard and used as a nipper. The handle is formed by a plastic plate, secured to the tang of the blade with a single rivet. The crossguard has a ring on the blade end. The handle head contains a T-shaped groove and a spring latch with an internally located coil spring. The sheath is steel, plastic-coated along its entire length, except for the section used as a nipper. The sling is made of leather.
