I forgot to give working of ' Exposure Memory Lock'
When using 'A' ( Auto) and have a bright white sky you can point camera down to ground and press button then it will stay on say, 1/125 instead of going up to 1/500 as white sky influences reading. OR of course you can use 'manual' exposure by taking it OFF 'A' and balancing the Red LED readout in viewfinder.
