Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, the group's most wanted leader, was killed by the IDF on October 17. Sinwar, referred to by the IDF as the "face of evil," had been a target for Israeli forces since the hostilities began on October 7. An old video of Sinwar has surfaced in which he expresses a desire to be killed by F-16s or missiles, stating, “The greatest gift the enemy and occupation can give me is to assassinate me.” Notably, he was killed during his first encounter with the Israeli Defense Forces since the surprise attacks on October 7. Sinwar, who orchestrated the October 7 attack, was considered the "spine" of Hamas. Previously, former Israeli envoy to India, Gilon, mentioned that "Israel would do things differently" when asked about Sinwar's release in 2011
