My opinion on the trailer for the film DE GAULLE
Join me as we delve into the trailer for *The Battle of de Gaulle*, one of the most anticipated French historical films of the year.
Scheduled for a two-part release in June and July, this ambitious project aims to recount a crucial period in General de Gaulle's life, from the collapse of 1940, to his famous Appeal of June 18th, and the building of Free France. A pivotal moment when all seemed lost… except for a certain vision of France.
In this video, I offer a comprehensive analysis of the trailer: its direction, artistic choices, historical credibility, and, above all, the expectations one can reasonably have for such a project. Does the film manage to capture the stature and complexity of de Gaulle? Can we expect a grand epic worthy of the event, or just another biopic?
Between cinematic ambition and historical rigor, The Battle of de Gaulle is taking a big gamble. Let's see together what this first trailer truly promises.
