Abraham Haim
Dr. Abraham Haim comes from a Sephardic family. Born in Jerusalem in 1941, he earned degrees in Middle Eastern History and Arabic Language and Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He holds a doctorate in History from Tel Aviv University and has worked as a professor and researcher at universities and colleges. For five years, he served as Director General of Sephardic Heritage at the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture. Currently, he is President of the Council of the Sephardic Community of Jerusalem, Advisor to the National Authority for Ladino and its Culture, and Coordinator of the Samuel Toledano Prize Committee, a position he has held since its inception. He is also a Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain and the Ibero-American Academy of La Rábida (Huelva). He has participated as a speaker in congresses, seminars, courses, and study days on the history of the Middle East, medieval Spanish Judaism, the Sephardic world, and interreligious topics.
