Compiling the Linux kernel
Linux is versatile in that you determine what kernel to run. And...you can even compile your own flavor. In this video, I try to show how to do that. We'll compile a kernel especially configured for the target system....
The kernel is the central brain of your OS. You can tweak it to your needs...and desires. I'll show the process that every system maintainer goes through (be it with more routine) to bring the perfect kernel to the desktop.
The compile I do here will fail, sadly. But, I'll show how to get back in the saddle by selecting the still present and working kernel to get the system back in action...
