Second, your car weighs 3,000 or 4,000 pounds and it's hurdling down a highway at a rate of speed most people throughout human history would not have been able to fathom personally reaching unless they fell off a cliff. So give each other some space. Back off. This is a fundamentally unsafe procedure we're undertaking here.
And three, never be the first person to stop at a metered on-ramp. That last green was for you, just go on through. There should never be a line of cars at a metered on-ramp because nobody should have ever stopped first. That's my theory anyways.
