Rough Pup Exploring the "Alice" class Quarry Hunslet at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Tywyn, Wales
This 0-4-0 saddle tank is one of a numerous design (the "Alice" class) built for use in the Dinorwic Slate Quarries at Llanberis by the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds. Rough Pup (works no. 541) dates from 1892, and is virtually in the condition in which she finished work in 1960.
She arrived in the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum at Tywyn, Wales in 1968. and has only had cosmetic restoration therefore is essentially is works condition apart from the paintwork being somewhat better.
