WHY THESE SETTINGS:
10kHz frequency (frequency / tone) reveals bias misalignment better than lower frequencies because high‑frequency response is most affected by incorrect bias.
–10dB level (level / volume) prevents tape saturation during testing.

Type I = Normal (Ferric / Iron‑oxide)
