Getting your freight broker license, aka freight broker authority, is actually very simple and can be accomplished in 4 easy steps.
1. Complete FMCSA OP-1 Form along with $300 payment to the Federal Carrier Administration Administration 1:26
2. Complete BOC-3 Agent Processing form or have a service do it for you. 2:00
3. Get your freight broker bond (BMC-84) or your freight broker trust (BMC-85) 2:30
4. UPDATE - FMCSA now requires a UCR filing for all freight brokers and carriers
Once you have completed these 4 steps you can be approved as a licensed freight broker, also known as truck broker, load broker, transportation broker.
