You NEED A LEVEL on your RIFLE!!! Rifle CANT is a thing
First, I am a big fan of Tim Kennedy, I think he is a great guy and a true American Patriot, it just happened to be the first video I found with someone saying you don’t need a level. There are many instructors I know who say the same thing…. Run, don’t walk, run away from that training class..
Levels are 100% necessary for long range shooting. There may be guys out there who have been shooting so long they can get a better feel of the rifle is level than a novice, but I guarantee you they still have some bit of cant when they shoot. As Bryan Litz writes in one of his Applied Ballistics books, one degree of cant can throw off a common cartridge, say a .308 up to 7” at 1000 yards. I don’t know about you, but I’m not giving away inches when I shoot because of a level. I want every advantage over the next guy I can get, including better equipment, which absolutely can improve your shooting…sorry Tim, that’s BS as well.
We have been running Long Range Precision classes for over 10 years, have been voted Top Ten in the country 2 years in a row and nominated for a Gundie Award for Firearms Instructor of the Year.
