Graphics cards are increasingly being offered with varying amounts of memory. This also applies to Gigabyte's GTX 1060 G1 Gaming, which features Nvidia's Pascal GP106 chip and is available with both 6 GB of VRAM (G1 Gaming 6G) and 3 GB of VRAM (G1 Gaming 3G). The price difference is currently around €65 (€235 vs. €300).
To determine whether gamers are being penny-wise and pound-foolish here, we pitted both models against each other in game benchmarks. In this video, we also take a closer look at frame times, which are usually negatively impacted by insufficient memory. Also in focus: the duel against AMD's Radeon RX 470 with 4 GB of VRAM, which, like Nvidia's GTX 1060 with 3 GB of VRAM, is priced around €200.
