Best Beaches Tampa Florida By Drone
Florida offers such an abundance of long, white, sandy beaches on both the Atlantic and the Gulf coastlines, but Tampa unfortunately is relatively beach-deprived. With Tampa Bay comprising the entirety of the city's modest waterfront, Tampa folks have made do with what they have, and much of the result is condensed into a small area on the east end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill has been a Bay area hit for some time now, and has more beach features than most beach bars: boat and small water craft access directly on the beach, sunbathing on the shore, tiki huts and a tiki bar, fire pits, and popular live music events that draw huge crowds.
Even with cooler weather, the outdoor Barefoot Bar — aptly named, considering that bikinis and swim trunks are the de facto dress code — is a big draw.
It may be miles from the Gulf, but Whiskey Joe's feels about as close to the beach as you can get. It's got all the tacky and touristy Florida charm that this kind of place thrives on, and with the kind of crowds and spectacle that the Barefoot Bar draws pretty much every weekend, it's easy to forget that you're not in Clearwater, or St. Pete, or any of Tampa's other beach-rich neighbors.
WTR Pool & Grill opened in June 2018 to bring a new waterfront dining and hang out spot to Tampa. The name comes from the word “water” spelled without the vowels. The outdoor recreation area includes a modernized swimming pool, a 20-foot hot tub, several outdoor bars and 14 cabanas equipped with televisions, refrigerators and charging outlets.
With healthy and fun dining and cocktail menus, a remarkable chef and an impeccable space, WTR aims to completely rethink Tampa’s waterfront entertainment scene and envisions the glamour and buzz of a Vegas pool blended with the chill tropical vibe that you can only find in Florida.
Fronting Tampa Bay and offering one of the first sights of sand for those entering Tampa via Tampa International Airport, Ben T. Davis Beach is attractively landscaped and stretches along the Courtney Campbell Causeway that connects Tampa with Clearwater.
The Courtney Campbell Trail provides pedestrian and bicycle access along the southern side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, linking Tampa and Clearwater in western Florida. Along the way, the trail offers spectacular views of Tampa Bay and connects Cypress Point Park, Skyway Park, and Ben T. Davis Beach. The trail provides boat and jet-ski ramp and plenty of B-B-Q and rest areas.
