COMPOSER (EXCEPT FOR SOME PARTS OF THE DRUM GROOVES, WHICH ARE FROM THE "STIGMATIZED DRUMMER GROOVES FULL PACK")---CHRISTOPHER CARMICHAEL
PERFORMER OF GUITARS---CHRISTOPHER CARMICHAEL
SONG---"LIFE WITH PLUGINS (DEMO) [1ST MIX]"
BY THE WAY---I'M CHRISTOPHER CARMICHAEL (of COSM SEEKER), AND I'M NO TECHNICAL EXPERT BY ANY MEANS, I HAVE NO DEGREE OR TECH SCHOOL CERTIFICATE, I'M JUST A MUSICIAN TRYING TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE OUT BY GIVING THE BEST FEEDBACK I CAN ABOUT STUFF. In addition to the plugins used to produce this song, Experimental Scenes' Anti Alias VST Plugin (Freeware) was used to oversample the audio (32x in each of the 4 instances used in a 44.1 kHz Audio Path) on the Guitars Bus (which has 3 Guitar Tracks, 1 in the Center, and 2 Panned left and right at about 60% to 85% each), the Drums Track, and on the Master Bus in 2 places in the FX Chain--the 1st before a Multiband Limiter using 24 bit processing (I believe the Guitars Direct Input (DI) Signals were recorded in 16 bit, also my Guitar Strings were very old), and the 2nd directly after the Multiband Limiter which is before the Final Limiter which also used 24 bit processing, which is a Multiband Limiter that has Pre-configured Multiband settings. The Limiters may have Equalized the Guitar tone a bit, but it is very similar to the tone that is produced when using the plugin, but louder, with better controlled dynamics in the Guitar and Audio Signal and a more sustained volume overall. I tried to keep as much of the original dynamics in the audio as much as possible while making it louder. I used Impulse Response Preset Number 24 from the Plugin, it has 5 microphones on the Impulse Response, and I believe it also has an Equalizer sampled into the Impulse Response as well. The amp settings are (and this is a guess because there are no actual numbers shown on the dials, just bent rectangles that go around in a circle, and channel 3 on the amp was used): Lead Gain 3 at about 75%, Bass at about 62.5%, Middle Voiced at about 76% (make sure you select the Middle Voiced option to enable it), Treble at about 85%, Lead Vol. 3 at 50%, Master A at 50%, Presence at about 49%, and Depth Punch at about 63%. I also had the Filters on in Post mode: the Tight control at 40 Hz, and the Smooth control at 22 kHz. The noise Gate was used as well: The Threshold was set at -67db or -88db, and I think the Range was set at 50db. I used an EMG H4A Guitar Pickup in the bridge position on the guitar. Audio Assaults' Druminator VST Virtual Instrument Plugin was used for the drum sounds, and the drum beats are from the Stigmatized Drummer Grooves Full Pack, but I changed them slightly, adding some extra crash cymbals and extra ride and hi-hat hits.
